Here’s the funny thing. I have been working from home for over two years now, yet I do not have a proper home office setup. Which, is absolutely ridiculous for someone who suffers from back and neck problems! Leave it to our time in self-isolation to inspire me to properly sort this out :).

From a smartphone stand for selfies and video calls to a laptop stand, wireless keyboard, and mouse, all of these items are perfect for people like me who want a home office setup that can travel with you – when we’re allowed to travel again! ATUMTEK Bluetooth Selfie Stick & Smartphone Tripod
A special thank you to my friend Stewart for recommending this excellent smartphone tripod that also doubles as a selfie stick! It fits a TON of different phone sizes, including my iPhone 7 Plus and my Nokia 7.2, which are both large phones. What’s great about this hybrid tripod and selfie stick is that it can travel with you, as the folded length is 7.7 inches, but can be extended up to 31.3 inches. It also has a Bluetooth feature so you can snap photos of yourself from up to 33 feet away. Lastly, I like that the phone holder rotates to support either horizontal or vertical video or photos. It has been great for all of the video calls I am doing lately, plus snapping selfies at home, plus filming new videos for TikTok!
Tronature Premium Portable Laptop Stand
I did a lot of research and decided that I wanted to go with a laptop stand, plus a Bluetooth keyboard and Bluetooth mouse route. Others might invest in a monitor, but because I do not have a permanent desk/office set up in my house, I need small, lightweight items that can be easily stored at the end of the day. The bonus? If I can travel with them when times improve.
I discovered the Tronature Premium Portable Laptop Stand on Amazon and have been very happy with the purchase. It’s incredibly simple – the stand folds down to nearly nothing, making it super easy to travel with. It’s an open-air stand, so my laptop won’t overheat. Plus, it’s adjustable in three heights and different tilts, so I’ve found a height that is comfortable for me. It fits my MacBook Air perfectly as well!
OMOTON Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse
Confession: I’m a bit annoyed that I have never brought my spare Apple Bluetooth keyboard and mouse back over from the USA! However, a silver lining is that because I know I have those products in the USA, I decided to look for a more cost-effective alternative on Amazon and ended up finding a great Bluetooth keyboard and mouse for a fraction of the price.
The OMOTON Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse markets itself as a wireless keyboard for iPad and iPhone, but it also works incredibly well with my MacBook Air. It does not come with batteries, so make sure you have a few AA and AAA batteries on hand. It was very easy to setup. The keyboard and mouse do occasionally loose connection, but it is easy to get it to re-sync. This is similar to any other Bluetooth device you use.
