Beauty: Sephora by OPI Nonfat Soy Half Caff Nail Colour

IMG_1032Though I adore treating myself to a proper manicure, there’s not always time. Luckily, I continue to amass a fabulous collection of nail polish. I love the nude nail polish trend, but wasn’t sure the best shade to select to pair with my, erm, super pale complexion. Thankfully, a friend took the guess work out of the equation by gifting me Sephora’s Nonfat Soy Half Caff nail color (you know how I love my coffee!). A few shades darker than my skin tone, the color comes off as a stylish nude shade that’s perfectly professional. I prefer it on my finger nails to toenails. In terms of wear, I sometimes find that it chips before the end of the week with three coats on, but the shade color makes it easy to hide!

The shade is available in store or on Sephora.com.

Fashion: LOFT Beaded Pave Metal Stretch Bracelet

LOFT Bracelet

Statement cuff bracelets are a fantastic way to perk up your wardrobe. Whether it’s a pop of color, or a dash of sparkle, I always find myself turning to accessories to dress up a more classic outfit. As a result, I couldn’t resist this sparkly Moroccan-inspired Beaded Pave Metal Stretch Bracelet from LOFT. A great mix of gems and beads, it appeals to my inner magpie while offering an exotic element to my jewelry collection. As someone with a very small wrist, the stretch bracelet also fits perfectly, which is fantastic because so many non-stretch bangle bracelets and cuffs do not.

Spotted in an email from LOFT, I purchased this bracelet during a recent 40% off sale (score!) at their recently remodeled location inside Boston’s Prudential Center, but it is also available online at the full price of $34.50.

Jewelry: LOFT Chunky Oversized Chain Bracelet

IMG_1815As someone with a small wrist, it’s not always easy to find bracelets that fit well. Luckily, LOFT continues to delight with chunky statement bracelets that are both stylish and well-sized to my tiny wrist. The one in the photo is a chunky oversized gold chain bracelet with a braided detail that clocked in a $34.50. Not too shabby for such a chic piece.

Unfortunately, this bracelet is no longer available online at LOFT, but keep an eye on their jewelry collection. There are frequently stretchy or clasp bracelets that work for women with small wrists, all at an affordable price. I know I will be!

Jewelry Pairing: Layered Necklaces from J.Crew, LOFT and The Icing

IMG_1812There is an art to layering necklaces. Why wear just one necklace when adding two or three together can create a chic statement piece? The key is to find several necklaces of a similar style and are adjustable. With the pairing in the photo, the necklaces are all gold and have white, pearls, diamonds, or all of the above. Each necklace should be slightly shorter or longer than the other to create the illusion of a thick, statement necklace.

The necklaces featured from top to bottom are from The Icing ($11), LOFT ($20) and J.Crew Factory Outlet (gift from friend). The SavvyBostonian purchased the first two herself.

When wearing this look, I keep the top or dress simple. A solid color like black or navy works perfectly, but a pop of color would be great too! In terms of other accessories, simple stud earrings and a watch are perfect. If opting for jeans and a black blouse, a pop of color with a clutch or shoes would be lovely!

Fitness: Check Out My Fitbit Helicopter Badge

IMG_1800

Ever since being gifted my Fitbit at LeWeb Paris ’12, I’ve fallen hard for it. I love how small it is and easy to clip onto my clothing. As someone who drives to work, it’s very helpful to see just how much (or how little…really), I walk during the day. It’s become a good motivator on days that I’m feeling slow and reminds me not to overextend myself when I’ve already walked, say, six miles during one day. So, imagine my delight when I was informed of climbing 500+ stairs just one month and a half after being given my sweet Fitbit!

For more information on Fitbit, visit their website.

The SavvyBostonian was gifted a FitBit ($99) as a speaker gift at LeWeb Paris ’12 and has been wearing it obsessively ever since.
