Jewelry: BCBGeneration Make Your Own (MYO) Hashtag Bracelet

IMG_5388My new bracelet is the height of social media geek chic – a make your own hashtag bracelet from BCBGeneration! Purchased on sale from Nordstrom for about $10, the bracelet comes with the entire alphabet and a few special characters, such as the heart pictured. I decided to keep mine simple with my name and love how it pairs perfectly with my favorite dual-faced Urban Outfitters watch.

In addition to the make your own option, I also purchase a grey and rose gold #chic bracelet. Although some of the unbelievable deals from Nordstrom have come and gone, click here to get the bracelet from Zappos for $25. Macy’s has a fun tan and gold #swag bracelet for $12. I’m #tempted to snag it for myself!

Cocktail: Beehive Julep

IMG_0137Although this cocktail is no longer on the menu at The Beehive, I’m going to let you in on a little secret. You can still order it! Called the Beehive Julep, it contains with rum, clementine liqueur, OJ, muddled mint, orange, and limes and ice. The end result is slightly sweet, refreshing and a touch tart. It’s been a favorite for years.

Want to make one at home? Here’s the recipe. Want to try it from the experts? Visit the Beehive, located at 541 Tremont Street, in Boston’s South End. Definitely try to go on a night when there’s live jazz as well – you won’t be disappointed!

On The Town: Drinks at Clio

IMG_4664I’ll let you in on a little secret – Clio has some of the best bartenders in the city. Ok, so perhaps that’s not so much a secret as it is the truth. Clio is one of my go-to’s when I want to catch up with a good friend during the week (weekends tend to be too busy). Tucked inside the Eliot Hotel in the Back Bay, the space is small, but well-appointed.  There’s a massive drink menu to read through, or you can turn to one of the friendly bartenders. Simply describe your favorite flavors, spirits, etc. and they will make you a personalized cocktail. And by personalized, don’t be surprised if you see ice cubes made of beets or honeydew melon, or a random tool procured to muddle or torch various ingredients right in front of you.

Although I’ve enjoyed many different drinks at Clio, I do adore the Pimms Cocktail. It’s refreshing, has fresh fruit and instantly transports me to a tropical beach. Which, as we’ve seen with this terrible weather, is a gift in itself!

Clio is located at the corner of Massachusetts Ave and Commonwealth Ave. inside the Eliot Hotel in Boston’s Back Bay.

Jewelry Pairing: Tahari Gold Drop Earrings & Ralph Lauren Tortoise Cuff

IMG_1764Who doesn’t love a beautiful piece of jewelry – or two, or three – to bring an outfit to the next level? With a highly curated and creatively sourced jewelry collection, friends frequently compliment and ask where I get certain pieces. A light bulb went on to share some of these more asked about pairings and offer links to the same or similar pieces. The pieces range from various price points, but because its yours truly, you know there will be a number of good deals mixed in!

The first fabulous jewelry pairing comes from Tahari and Ralph Lauren. The chic earrings from Tahari were gifted to me on my birthday by my fabulous roommate. Their classic style has clearly passed the test of time, as I found them on Amazon still at a good price (affiliate link). While the earrings have numerous options to be paired with, I do like this simple Ralph Lauren tortoise cuff, especially during the workday. On the weekend, the cuff makes it easy to stack and layer in complimentary bracelets to make it more fun and on trend. Originally gifted to me by my mother on one of her jewelry drawer clean outs (best day ever for yours truly), I couldn’t find the exact cuff online, but I did find a very similar cuff from Ralph Lauren on Zappos, but with a fabulous gold pave band in the middle.

DIY Jewelry or Coffee Table Trays From a Ralph Lauren Box

IMG_1541When it comes to DIY projects, some have the knack and others do not. I’m definitely not one of those people who is naturally crafty, but occasionally I do have a flash of brilliance. While cleaning out my closet, I noticed a leftover Ralph Lauren box with plenty of reusable potential. Instead of letting it collect dust in my closet, I decided to turn it into two trays for my necklace collection.

It couldn’t have been easier. In another moment of brilliance, I realized that I had an old calendar from Papersource filled with vintage Italian postcards that were about the same height and width as the Ralph Lauren box (example here). A little cutting and taping later (too scared to glue haha!), I ended up with these beautiful trays that would be great on a coffee table in a living room, or a jewelry tray adorned with all of my favorite necklaces. Look below for the step by step process.
