It’s rare to be in London during a proper heat wave, but that is exactly where I found myself this past July. Mid-way through the busiest summer of my life, I snuck off to London for a little R&R. From admiring the roses in Regent’s Park, to meals with friends and a little shopping, this was exactly the mid-summer break I needed. Take a look at my favorite photos from the oh-so-lovely Regent’s Park.
TRAVEL
I love all things Keep Calm and Carry On, so you can imagine my delight upon discovering the perfect card case to carry my Charlie Card (Boston), Metro Card (NYC), or Oyster Card (London). At two pounds, I swept up this cheerfully red card case during a trip to London at a little shop in the Baker Street tube station. Wouldn’t you agree that it’s especially important to Keep Calm and Carry on while on public transit? 🙂
And, for the record, my personal Keep Calm collection also extends to a magnet and reusable sigg bottle. I also have a Keep Calm and Drink Coffee magnet for my desk at work, plus a Keep Calm and Have a Cupcake notebook for my never-ending to-do lists (thanks G & S!).
Want one too? I found my little Keep Calm and Carry On card case here on Amazon as well. FYI, all links in this post are affiliate links.
Though I’ve been snapping photos for ages, this image from the water is especially important because it also serves as The SavvyBostonian blog header. Taken during May 2005 just before I graduated from college, I was in Boston enjoying a Duck Tour with a dear friend from out of town. It was a sunny and warm day and we strolled over the city, from the Back Bay, to Newbury Street, Beacon Hill, the Public Garden. Oh, and the Duck Tour was pretty fun too! Definitely a must-do for tourists and locals alike.
When it comes to the destination wedding of a good friend, you simply go with the flow and hope for the best. Such was the case with a destination wedding in Atlantic Beach, Florida. That was, until I saw where the wedding was being hosted: One Ocean Resort & Spa. I’ll confess – I’m not a huge beach person, but in scrolling through the website and TripAdvisor reviews, I started to get pretty excited. With a great gym, spa and plenty of local shops and restaurants within walking distance, I hoped this could be a nice mini getaway.
