The event, on Saturday, October 20, takes the flash sale concept to a stylish ‘warehouse’ venue – Space 57 at the Revere Hotel. It’s the perfect outing for local fashionistas who enjoy sipping cocktails in a chic space while browsing designer and high end apparel, footwear and accessories at super low prices. Though tickets are going fast, entry for mid-morning ($10) and afternoon ($5) on Saturday are still available here. You can thank me later when you’ve scored a fashionable new find! Enjoy!

When it comes to watches, I seek out timepieces that are unique. Though I’m still religiously wearing my beloved black dual face watch from Urban Outfitters, a $50 credit to Rue La La burning a hole in my pocket resulted in the discovery of La Mer’s wrap watches. With a void in my wardrobe for a watch that would match browns, whites and beiges, I quickly snapped up a tan wrap watch from a La Mer sale on Rue La La. Accented with gold (my favorite!), it fits my super tiny wrist, and has a Roman numeral watch face that I adore. Though it’s become a fixture in my wardrobe and has received its fair share of compliments, the only con I would point out is the gold chain tarnished very quickly, making it a little more maintenance than I had hoped for. As a lover of unique watches, read more for a few similar ones (sans chain) from La Mer, to add a little flair to your wardrobe.
Up until recently, I hadn’t worn a watch in years. Though there are thousands of watches readily available for purchase in the city of Boston (and beyond), I wasn’t inspired to purchase one until I saw this unique gem of a watch from Urban Outfitters. Featuring dual watch faces, it allows me to keep track of two time zones (U.S. and UK, obviously). It’s also chic, perfect for my tiny wrist and inexpensive at $34.00.
But, what’s intrigued me the most about this watch is that my adorable little timepiece has become quite the conversation piece. I can’t tell you how many times a friend or random person has struck up a conversation because of my watch. As I travel a good amount, several TSA agents going through the motions have even paused to compliment my watch, or say, “Oh, that’s a unique watch.” It’s safe to say that in the few months I’ve had this watch, it’s become somewhat of a signature piece. And, because I’m so smitten with my fashionable little find, I bought two! Now, if only Urban Outfitters would sell it in different color combos. I’d love a brown and white, or navy and white one…hint hint…
The Double Case Leather Watch, $34.00, is available online only at UrbanOutfitters.com.
During a recent stroll through Copley Place, I noticed heads turning and camera phones pointed in the direction of Louis Vuitton’s store. Was there a celebrity shopping? Or, a new swoon-worthy handbag? Interestingly, people were stopping in their tracks to marvel over the luxury retailer’s vibrant new windows.
