‘Tis the season for fun and festive events. Fresh off a lovely wedding in New Hampshire at a cozy venue complete with a roaring fire, 15 foot Christmas tree and rustic-chic holiday decorations galore, I’m ready to embrace the holiday season. Lucky for me (and you!), there are two great holiday themed local markets to enjoy this weekend: The Eat Boutique Holiday Local Market and SoWa Holiday Market.
BOSTON
Happy Thanksgiving! It’s the time of year when we all pause and reflect on what we’re thankful for in life. How often do we stop and think about the many things that make Boston so wonderful? Following last year’s successful blog entry on what Bostonians are thankful for about Boston, I couldn’t resist asking friends and @savvybostonian Twitter followers to participate again this year.
Whenever I’m with my girl B, there’s no doubt that it’s going to be a good night. Often spotted taking Boston stylishly by storm, we recently spent a Tuesday night stopping into two new-ish spots in the Back Bay: The Brahmin and Red Lantern.
Last week was very busy – the good kind of busy. The kind of busy that results in a satisfying sense of accomplishment. I was fortunate to speak (twice!) at and attend GSMI’s Social Media Strategies Summit in Boston. Featuring dynamic social media experts from across the country, I spent three days meeting new people and catching up with industry friends, all while soaking up as much as possible.
As someone who considers herself to be a lifelong learner, I love the educational yet inspirational nature of a good conference. Through the conference, I was able to meet and re-connect with some amazing people from the Boston Celtics, Definition 6, Intel, NCAA, Mercedes-Benz, Panera Bread, Seven for All Mankind, Silk/White Wave Foods, and many more.
Now that Labor Day has passed and the chilly rain showers have moved in, I’m feeling nostalgic about summer. This summer has been a whirlwind of travel, patio drinks, fun events and long strolls through the city. And, nothing makes me happier than having a fun summer wardrobe to enjoy it all in. Even better? If that wardrobe doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. As a nod to some of my recent fabulously frugal finds, here are a few of my favorite purchases from summer 2011! Note: All were purchased for under $45!
