Today we are traveling to Delhi and checking into The Crowne Plaza New Delhi Mayur Vihar Noida. This is the second hotel that I stayed at on my trip to New Delhi, after the Andaz Delhi. In this blog post, I share a detailed look at my hotel room, the hotel common areas, pool and breakfast. If you want to see a more in-depth review video of my stay, watch the YouTube video below!
The Location
The hotel is on the border of Delhi and Noida, a suburb of New Delhi. We selected this location for work reasons, as I was in India for a video shoot and this hotel looked about 25 minutes away, which in Delhi traffic terms, means double the length of time, depending on the time of day! I traveled to this hotel with a hotel car from the Andaz Delhi.
The Arrival
Upon arrival, I was super impressed by the customer service at this hotel. I have Gold Elite IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) status, and they made a very big deal about this, with two special thank you letters.
The Room
The rooms are massive at this hotel! The style is more modern, with a massive bed, TV console table, a desk and couch seating room and a bathroom with a big bathtub and shower. I found the bed to be incredibly comfortable and slept so well at this hotel. Also, no issues with the in-room temperature. The hot water in the shower also worked fine.
Breakfast & Dinner
Breakfast came included with my room rate and I would highly recommend it. The breakfast buffet was very generous and came with a mix of western and traditional Indian breakfast items. The staff were so impressed with my knowledge and preference for the Indian breakfast foods. I also had vanilla latte, which was great. There’s often a debate in India if you should drink the milk. I only did this at both of my hotels and had no issues.
We also had dinner at the hotel on a few occasions. While I would have loved to go out in Delhi, we were there for work and on an ambitious video shoot schedule, which did not allow us to explore much. However, I will say that all of the meals I had at this hotel were excellent. I only ate the Indian food offerings (when in India, right!?), and they were deliciously indulgent.
Safety/Security
I had no issues with safety/security while at this hotel. While I understand that safety is a bigger concern while traveling in India, especially as a female solo traveler, I can say that I never felt unsafe at the hotel. Everyone that I interacted was so friendly and interested in helping me. By the end of the trip, I knew many of the employees of the hotel by name, and the friendliness made it feel more like I was staying at a friend’s lavish mansion than at a hotel. I will mention that the rooms do have in-room safes, if that is of concern to you.
Final Verdict: Would I Stay Here Again?
Yes! So much of where you stay in Delhi comes down to where you need to be. I would not hesitate to stay here again if the location made sense.
