As someone who is now in her 30s, I’ve become even more passionate about skincare and testing and learning about what works for me. As sharing is caring, I want to also post my findings on this blog as I test new products. In my latest skincare review, I’m sharing my honest opinions on Bioderma’s Sensibo H2O. I purchased this product myself.
Bioderma Sensibo H2O
When you read about the top micellar waters out there, Bioderma’s range is always mentioned. For those not familiar with micellar waters, you use them to remove your makeup. As someone who wears a lot of makeup, I use two different types of cleansers nightly to remove it all. Ever since I have shifted to the “double cleanse” as it is called by industry experts, I’ve seen such a difference in my skin – and specifically a reduction of breakouts.
However, that’s not to say that you should overly strip your skin by using two super harsh makeup removers when doing a double cleanse. I start with Clinique’s Take The Day Off Balm – it is amazing for removing your makeup gently (US link here and UK link here). For good measure, I then use micellar water with a cotton pad to ensure that I’ve gotten every bit of makeup, including mascara, etc. I’ve been very loyal to Garnier Micellar Water Facial Cleanser Sensitive Skin (US link here and UK link here), as it’s super affordable, works well and doesn’t irritate my skin.
That being said, I’m always open to testing what else is out there. So, when Boots didn’t have my beloved Garnier Micellar Water in stock, I opted to try the Bioderma Sensibo H2O. I’ve seen so many skincare experts and beauty influencers rave about this micellar water. The product claims to have an extra skincare benefit as well, from soothing irritation to helping to strengthen the skin’s hydrolipidic film for long-lasting comfort. While this does intrigue me, I still didn’t love its makeup removal capabilities as much as my Garnier one.
My verdict? If you have really sensitive skin, I do think this would be a good one to try, but try it side by side with the Garnier one to see what is best for you. It’s a very good back-up for me when my other Garnier micellar is not in stock. It also comes in the most adorable travel sized bottle as well, which is very tempting for vacations!
