REN Flash Hydro-Boost Instant Plumping Emulsion
As someone with dry skin, I am a moisturizer junkie. Well, “all of the hydrating skincare junkie” is probably more accurate, but you get the point! REN is a skincare brand that comes highly recommended. Described as clean skincare, REN products are formulated with bio-actives that benefit your skin’s health. Their products do not contain toxins, harsh chemicals or potential irritants. Sounds great, right?
I was drawn to the REN Flash Hydro-Boost Instant Plumping Emulsion as a result of its hydrating and plumping promise. Who wouldn’t want a hydrated, plumped face? This product specifically has hyaluronic acid, carob seed extract, xylitol from vegetable bark and ceramide from safflower oil to maximize moisture levels by helping to draw in water for an instant plumping effect. REN claims that with long term use, the product helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and prevent water loss from the skin.
My Verdict? REN Flash Hydro-Boost Instant Plumping Emulsion lives up to its promise – when used correctly. The product is meant to be used before moisturizer and I found that it layered well with my existing moisturizers – Darphin Ideal Resource Smoothing Retexturizing Radiance Cream (UK link | US link), Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré (UK link | US link), and Caudalie’s Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet. I also tried the product on its own without moisturizer but found that it doesn’t stand on its own. It is a booster – not a moisturizer substitute. For me, I won’t use this product every day, but as someone who suffers from dry skin, it’s an awesome addition to my skincare roster to use as needed. As a result, I would definitely re-purchase.
