Allow me to introduce you to one of my new favorite restaurants in London: Bao & Bing!
Located in Marylebone, Bao & Bing is a Taiwanese street food restaurant with delicious cocktails. I’ve had the pleasure of eating at Bao & Bing twice now and both times have been incredible. I’ve curated a delicious assortment of photos and recommendations for you. Warning: If you’re not hungry you will be by the end!
On my first visit to Bao & Bing, I went solo. It’s actually a great restaurant if you are a solo diner, with a mix of window seats and small tables. I ordered the spicy edamame, plus a duck bao and a pork belly bao, all of which were super yummy.
On my second visit, I had company that was equally keen to explore much more of the menu. The menu is divided between appetizers, dan bing, noodles & rice, baos, specials and desserts. Explanations are included in the menu so don’t worry if you’re not familiar with Taiwanese food.
For example, if you’ve never heard of a dan bing before, it’s explained on the menu as, “Literally means “egg cake”. A thinly rolled crepe with egg, filled with wok cabbage, spring onion, chili, cilantro, and teriyaki sauce. Your choice of plain filling, chicken or pork, wrapped up in one.”
Here’s what we ordered with yummy photos!
The five-spice beef bao and the pork belly bao
We loved our meal – and definitely couldn’t finish all of it. I happily brought some noodles home!
Also, check out how cute the interior is – they just decorated for Christmas…
There’s also a hidden cocktail lounge downstairs!
Bao & Bing is located at 22 Paddington St, Marylebone, London W1U 5QY. They do not take reservations for parties under 8 people, but I’ve never had a problem walking in. Check out the menu here: http://www.baoandbing.com/#menu
