One of my geeky pleasures is testing new skincare. With so many new products constantly coming out, it’s easy to get FOMO when it comes to your skincare regime and ensuring that you are using the best products for your skin. I recently discovered the Murad Advanced Active Radiance Serum and wanted to share my honest review of the product. Full disclosure: I purchased this product myself.
Murad Advanced Active Radiance Serum
Murad’s Advanced Active Radiance Serum is a Vitamin C serum. It has a Resilient-C™ Complex, which per all of the product descriptions and marketing materials, promises to deliver 50x the skin-brightening, collagen-building and cell-protecting power of ordinary Vitamin C (based on Murad’s study). Sounds amazing, right? I’m now on my second bottle of the serum and my skin loves it. I do notice a difference in the morning after I use this serum at night.
The only con? It does not layer well with the rest of my current daytime skincare and makeup regime. I’ve tried it with a few different moisturizers and it pills (rubs off) my makeup each time. Candidly, I haven’t tried it with Murad’s Vitamin C moisturizer in this range, which is called the Essential-C Day Moisture SPF 30, but I would like to!
Also? The packaging is a little annoying. I’m not sure if this is intentional or by accident, but there is no tube attached to the pump on the inside of this product. It’s a very long tube, so you have to take the cap off or turn it upside down to dispense the product. I had thought with the first purchase it was a fluke, but then it happened for a second time so maybe this is just how the product is?
My verdict? I will continue to purchase this product because it works really well, but I’ll only use it as a nighttime serum. I will consider buying or trying to snag a good sample of the moisturizer to see if it works better with my makeup.
