As another month comes to a close, I am excited to share my fab finds. In September, I scored a mix of lovely new skincare and beauty items, plus chic apparel and footwear classics. From a fab moisturizer for dry skin, to an anti-aging wonder, the absolute best concealer for covering dark eye circles, two amazing brow makeup items, my favorite jeans, a chic blazer, the perfect fall blouse and the most comfortable ballet flats, here are my nine fab finds of September 2017.
Dr. Dennis Gross Hyaluronic Moisture Cushion
I first discovered this moisturizer as a free gift with purchase and it’s fantastic. I have dry skin and despite being oil-free, this moisturizer leaves my skin feeling firm and dewy. It’s also a great base for makeup and does not pill. The moisturizer contains a mix of time-released hyaluronic acid to hydrate, glycolic acid to gently exfoliate, collagen to plump and aloe to soothe the skin. Had I discovered this sooner, it would have been my go-to for summer. However, I am excited to try it in other seasons as well, as it’s so soothing and lush that my guess is that I’ll be reaching for it year-round.
Scoop up this moisturizer at Net-A-Porter (US) or Cult Beauty (UK).
Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel Original Formula
Another fab find from Dr. Dennis Gross are the Alpha Beta Peel Original Formula. As someone with dry skin, I have been testing out acids that treat wrinkles, enlarged pores and uneven skin tone – without burning my face off or causing a ton of dryness. According to the company, this peel contains five Alpha and Beta Hydroxy Acids (AHAs & BHAs) with potent, wrinkle wrestling antioxidants (including Retinol (Vitamin A), Ubiquinone and Resveratrol), to simultaneously smooth, refine and protect your skin. I have been using it every other night and after I layer on Dr. Dennis Gross’s Ferulic and Retinol Wrinkle Recovery Overnight Serum.
To purchase the Dr. Dennis Gross are the Alpha Beta Peel Original Formula, you can score it at Net-A-Porter (US) or Cult Beauty (UK).
Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer
This is a very bold statement, but Tarte’s Maracuja Creaseless Concealer is THE BEST concealer that I have ever tried. It covers my very dark under eye circles and barely creases. It is long-lasting and very hydrating for my naturally dry under eyes, which is great for someone who works very long days! I was also pleased to learn that it is vegan, hypoallergenic, and dermatologist tested. Note: It’s very thick and a little goes a long way!
It’s unfortunately hard to find this product in the UK (you may have some luck on Amazon UK), but grab it in the U.S. at Sephora.
Benefit Goof Proof Eyebrow Pencil
As someone who has eyebrows that never fully grow in, Benefit’s goof proof eyebrow pencil is a godsend! It lives up to its name as being goof proof, but what I like the most is how it offers very natural coverage. I don’t love the look of overly severe brows and this pencil leaves you with natural coverage.

Benefit Gimme Brow Volumizing Eyebrow Gel
Once I have penciled in my brows, I add a coat of Benefit’s Gimmie Brow Volumizing Eyebrow Gel to keep them in place. The eyebrow gel is also tinted, so, in theory, you could purchase one vs. the other. However, I have long eyebrow hairs (so TMI, but oh well!) and I find that both together is the perfect combination.

Calvin Klein Mandarin Collar Roll-Up Sleeve Blouse
I have religiously worn this style of blouse from Calvin Klein for years. I own it in SO many colors – and for good reason. This blouse is comfortable yet chic and does not wrinkle for travel. As someone who travels a ton for work and for leisure, my wardrobe needs to multitask and not wrinkle in the process. My most recent score of this blouse is in a beautiful plum hue for fall – and I also have my eyes on a hunter green one too. Unfortunately, on my most recent visit to the U.S., they did not have the my size, an XS. This blouse does run big, so I would suggest trying a size smaller than you normally order.
Get this beautiful blouse at Calvin Klein in the U.S. – I cannot find it in the UK, sadly!
H&M Fitted Jacket in Natural White
I’ll let you in on another one of my tried and true wardrobe secrets – H&M makes AMAZING blazers. I always buy them a size too small (e.g. cannot button them) so that they have a sleek, fitted look. I was in the market for an off white blazer that I could wear into the fall and I just love this blazer. Classic, chic – and with a great pricetag to match!
Score it here at H&M – in the UK here! Sadly, I could not find it in the U.S. – maybe the ‘no white after Labor Day’ wiped out the stock!
7 For All Mankind High Waist Skinny Slim Illusion Luxe Rinsed Black Jeans
Ever since I interned at Nordstrom and the buyers had me try on the new 7 For All Mankind range to ‘model’ for our team of colleagues, I have been HOOKED! If there were ever a pair of jeans for my long legs (I’m 5’7″), short waist, and narrow hips, it would be these jeans. When I was younger, I loved the low waisted ones, however, I now only wear the high waisted ones (note: not the super high waisted ones. I have my limits, lol!). They hit at juuuust the right spot just below your belly button, resulting in a very figure flattering look. Yes, they are a touch pricey, but they seriously last forever.
Snag these beauties at Nordstrom in the U.S. or the 7 For All Mankind Website in the UK.
Me Too Olympia Skimmer Flat
The Me Too ballet flats have been another longtime wardrobe secret of mine. Or, dare I say, not so secret, as I have been wearing Me Too’s patent leather beige and gold flats for years! I have been wishing for a black and gold equivalent, and this year, Me Too made my ballet flat dreams come true. I stopped at Lord & Taylor earlier this year and they were sold out, but THANKFULLY, during my September visit, I was rewarded for my patience.
Unfortunately, these flats are not available in the UK, but in the U.S. you can find them at Nordstrom or Lord & Taylor.
