I have a destination wedding for two of my dear friends to thank for taking me up to the oh-so-lovely Waitsfield, Vermont. About 3.5 hours north of Boston and not far from Burlington and Montpelier, here are a few photos and recommendations from a fantastic weekend.
What To See & Do
While the winters offer plenty of activities for ski and snowboard enthusiasts, summertime in Waitsfield is all about the picturesque scenery, cycling, hikes, and more. Like this.
We were also delighted to discover the charming Waitsfield Farmer’s Market which is open on Saturday’s from 9am-1pm from May – October.
The Waitsfield covered bridge is also a fun sight to see.
Oh, and that wedding we went to? Faaaabulous!
Simon Pearce: A Fun Pit Stop En Route To Waitsfield
On the way home, we stopped at Simon Pearce in Quechee, Vermont. I’ve always heard great things about it and it was a fun stop to break up the 3.5 hour drive home.
Where To Stay
There are tons of charming little B&Bs to stay at. We ended up at the Tucker Hill Inn and really enjoyed it. We got a suite for four people, with one queen bedroom and one room with two twin beds. The B&B included breakfast, plus lots of coffee and snacks throughout the day, plus a tennis court. It was quiet, comfortable and the service was perfect.
All in all, this was a fantastic weekend in Vermont! A big thank you to my friends for showing us a place that is so special to them – and now to yours truly as well.
