SXSW Photos: Our Book Launch Events For The Power of Visual Storytelling

Once again, SXSW was a whirlwind – in a good way. This year was different for me because I was there for a very special reason: promoting the launch of our new book, The Power of Visual Storytelling! Yes, that’s correct – I co-wrote a book! When publishing a book, it seems par for the course to do a fabulous book launch event. We ended up receiving three amazing “launch event” opportunities to sign and give away our book at SXSW among our community of industry friends and influencers. As the photos below will show, we had an incredible time. How can it not be an incredible time when Ekaterina and I are together? 🙂

The first up was the PayPal Lounge. This was the first year PayPal hosted the lounge and it was done extremely well with exclusive interviews, live music and book signings. We couldn’t have been more thrilled to be part of the lounge. Our books went very fast and it was wonderful to hear such a positive response from attendees, many who went out of their way to come and get a copy. Thank you to Marcy and Stephanie from MSLGROUP for setting this up!

On another day, our friends at Vocus were kind enough to offer us an opportunity to sign and give away books at the Iron Cactus. With delicious food, tons of good friends and even a celebratory cocktail (why not haha), this event was so much fun. It was a great feeling to give good friends a copy of our book and meet others who were excited to read it. As you’ll see in the photos below, the jovial atmosphere quickly spread amongst all of the attendees. Thank you so much to the fabulous team at Vocus – Stacey, Adrienne, Brindisi, Hunter! We are so grateful for your support!

Our third opportunity to promote the book came from our friends at Sprinklr, who graciously mentioned the book at their incredibly fun event. They passed around a sign up list for attendees to get a copy of our book later in the mail. How amazing is that? One of the cons of SXSW is that you always end up getting a lot of cool promo items and books, which can make for a challenging decision on what to bring home with you. So, having one delivered to you at home or at work was a very generous offer. Huge thank you to the kind folks at Sprinklr!!

All in all, SXSW was extra special this year. The timing of our book coming out leading into the event was perfect. As a first-time author, these events and opportunities are something I will never forget. Pinch yourself moments for sure! I’m so grateful to have such a supportive network of friends who believe in us and the quality of content in The Power of Visual Storytelling. I’m also so happy to have worked on this project with an amazing friend, Ekaterina Walter, who has an ability effortlessly inspire others with everything she does.
