While I have walked by Intimacy in Boston’s Copley Place Mall many times, I had never been inside, until now. Invited as part of a media day, I had the opportunity to learn about how bra fit styling differentiates Intimacy from other lingerie shops.
Intimacy is a store that sells women’s lingerie, sleepwear, swimsuits, and more from a range of popular designers. What makes their approach unique is that they specialize in fit and helping their clients through a more personalized approach. For example, measurement doesn’t play as big of a role as it does in other places. Instead, a consultant helps you through a free bra fit styling session that is more focused on fit, than how measurement numbers. With over 90 sizes from A to K, there are options for just about everyone. As a result of women’s changing sizes, it’s recommended that they come in every six months.
I found the session to be wonderful. The dressing rooms are private and quiet and the staff was not phased by any of the questions I had. They can provide counsel on how long a bra will last you, plus how to wash and care for it. I tried on everything from regular bras to even a sports bra. I learned that I had been wearing my bra too high in the back, which may have been contributing to some of the neck and shoulder problems I’ve been having ongoing. I also tried on their swimwear and while on the conservative side, I ended up purchasing a deep plunging black swimsuit that is adjustable between halter and straps that I thought would be nice for doing laps in while on vacation.
At the end of the session, I was also offered a complimentary bra and underswear set. I went with a fantastic strapless Simone Perele bra which is quite possibly the most comfortable strapless bra that I’ve ever tried on, plus Hanky Panky bottoms (bra valued at $90, underwear $14).
Thank you to Intimacy for inviting me. I’ll definitely be back the next time I need a stylish, yet comfortable bra. Intimacy is located inside Copley Place at 100 Huntington Ave. It is on the lower level adjacent to Barney’s and Burberry (oooo la la!).
The SavvyBostonian was a guest of Intimacy and was gifted with strapless Simone Perele bra ($90) and Hanky Panky underwear ($14) that she loves.
