Ah, what a week. Busier than most, it was filled with fun events, brunches, exploring Boston, and more. From speaking at the PRSA Boston social media conference, to seeing Mayor Menino speak at the Rosoff Awards, a fantastic brunch with a good friend and exploring the new Restoration Hardware store, here are a few highlights.
On Tuesday, May 14th, the week kicked off with a double header, starting with yours truly co-keynoting a PRSA Boston conference on social media. The event was incredible and I’m honored to have been asked by the PRSA.
Later in the evening, I joined a group of colleagues at the Rosoff Awards. Hosted by the Ad Club of Boston, the Rosoff Awards were created to honor corporations in the Boston business community that are devoted to building an inclusive workplace environment, or are committed to supporting diversity, mentoring and inclusion programs in Greater Boston. Held at 60 State Street in the State Room, Mayor Menino was there to accept the 2013 Champion of Change award. Somehow I managed to be sitting just three feet from him as he accepted the award. Definitely a pleasant surprise!
Fast-forward to the weekend and it was time to catch-up with friends. Saturday offered a fun opportunity to enjoy a BBQ with friends in a gorgeous home in Beacon Hill. On Sunday, I enjoyed a nice stroll back to Beacon Hill for brunch with a longtime friend at Harvard Gardens (warning, their website plays music!). Harvard Gardens, located at 316 Cambridge St, is a hidden gem for brunch – it’s always pretty easy to snag a table and the food is very good. I also love any brunch venue where you can order a “side dish” of one red velvet pancake. Swoon.
As we worked off brunch with a walk to the Back Bay, we stopped into the new Restoration Hardware shop at 234 E Berkeley St. The shop is stunning and worth a visit. I can’t wait for them to open the top floor cocktail bar – will be a fun new venue to enjoy. While the sales associates couldn’t confirm, I also see potential for the store to host corporate events in the evenings. Would be a gorgeous venue to attend an event in.
All in all, it was a great week. Now, if Restoration Hardware would just transport this living room into my pied-à-terre….pretty please?
