BOSTON, EVENTS, NIGHTLIFE

The Work Week in Boston: Monday, September 20 – Thursday, September 23

While walking through the city this weekend, I couldn’t help but notice a great energy in the air.  Whether generated by the crisp fall air, returning college students, or store windows filled with fabulous fall fashions, it made me realize that there’s no time like the present to enjoy Boston.

Boston Wine Week

Luckily, there are a variety of fun events scheduled from Monday through Thursday this week that involve wine, fashion, rubbing elbows and indoor mini golf.  Here are my top picks:

Monday, September 20 – Raise a Glass to Boston Wine Week

From September 20 through September 26, more than twenty participating restaurants in Boston are offering a minimum of six wines at $9 per glass, or $32 per bottle as part of the first annual Boston Wine Week. With the goal of making amazing vino more accessible to the masses, Bostonians can start their week in style by sampling wine and gobbling up complimentary pizzettes with the Second Glass at BiNA Osteria on Monday from 6-7 p.m..  For more information on participating restaurants and events throughout the week, please click here.

Tuesday, September 21 – Wonder Women of Boston Networking Event at Mantra

While gents are allowed, this event is all about connecting Boston’s inspiring women.  Join women (and men) of all ages and career paths at Mantra on Tuesday, September 21 from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. for networking and socializing.  A bi-annual event hosted by founder Jeanne Dasaro, the suggested $5 entry fee benefits Project Have Hope.  To learn more about the event and RSVP, please click here.

Wednesday, September 22 – Beers and Mini Golf at Hennessey’s

Have a serious passion for mini golf? Starting this Wednesday, Hennessey’s in Faneuil Hall is partnering with local group Putt in Boston to host Boston’s first indoor mini golf league. Over the next six weeks, teams of two will take on the “Hennessey Hills Country Club,” a nine hole course located on the bar’s second floor. Prices aren’t cheap at $90 for each league team, but hopefully two dollar beers and a commemorative polo shirt will soften the blow. For more information and to register, please visit the Putt in Boston site here.

Boston Fashion Week 2010

Thursday, September 23 – Boldfacers Fashion Week Bash at The Beehive

From 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., celebrate the kickoff of Boston Fashion Week with Boldfacers at the Beehive. Marking the first stop of the city’s official “Fashion Trail,” this free event features clothing from Uncle Pete’s, free appetizers and the opportunity to strike a fierce pose in the Boldfacers famous red frame. The event is free, but guests must RSVP to press@beehiveboston.com. For more information about the event, please click here.

Stay tuned for a mid-week blog post dedicated to the weekend rundown in Boston.  Between a stuff -yah-face food fest, live jazz and free museum passes, there’s a lot to look forward to!
