In a city where it’s common to move annually, hitting the apartment jackpot can require navigating a complicated maze of craigslist postings, followed by numerous site visits to prospective rentals. While it’s easy to expend a significant amount of time and energy apartment hunting, I’m particularly impressed with the local agents and agencies that are making the process easier by embracing the blogosphere to market themselves to a time-strapped, web-savvy client base.
Featuring snazzy site layouts, engaging copy, plus photos and videos galore, a few sites including The Boston Apartments Blog by Charlesgate Realty, The Boston Condo Loft by Condo Domain and LRG Boston’s Real Estate Blog go above and beyond to offer a Bostonian’s additional insight into the local market.
Boston Apartments Blog – Charlesgate Realty
If other agencies are embracing the blogosphere, Charlesgate Realty’s efforts would be better described as a big bear hug, with sites on Boston apartments, condos and even things to do in the city. As a renter, I’m partial to their Boston Apartments blog, which is easy to read and allows prospective clients more information on the city’s best buildings. Though useful, if you’re looking for more hot listings of the moment, try subscribing to their weekly e-newsletter, which links to a blog page offers a virtual apartment hunting experience for potential renters.
The Boston Condo Loft Blog by Condo Domain
Run by Condo Domain, the Boston Condo Loft blog showcases a variety of condos for sale throughout the city. Whether or not you’re ready to be a homebuyer, this is a great site for virtual condo hunting. In addition to featuring useful photo slideshows and pricing information to accompany each listing, this website also frequently spotlights the top neighborhoods for prospective homebuyers.
LRG’s Boston Real Estate Blog
Though not as snazzy as the other two blogs, LRG’s Boston Real Estate blog earns brownie points for their creative posts on Boston’s luxury condo market. From humorous entries about renting Manny Ramirez’s Penthouse to Shaq, to no-nonsense advice for homebuyers, this blog’s straight-talking style and excellent photos make it worth reading.
